KARACHI: At Jinnah International Airport, a passenger, Qudratullah, faced an unexpected ordeal when Airblue ticketing staff allegedly tore his passport, preventing him from boarding flight PA-170 to Jeddah. The incident left him stranded, resulting in financial losses reportedly amounting to hundreds of thousands of rupees.

Qudratullah protested at the airline counter, after which Airblue refunded the ticket. Officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) confirmed that travel with a damaged passport is strictly prohibited. They advised that the passenger must apply for a new passport before being allowed to resume international travel.

The incident has raised concerns among travelers regarding airline handling of travel documents and passenger rights, highlighting the need for proper training and protocols to avoid such situations in the future.
