The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has opened applications for fully funded PhD scholarships under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Project for the 2026 academic year. This initiative provides outstanding Pakistani students with the opportunity to pursue doctoral studies at top-ranked universities in the United States, aiming to strengthen academic excellence and research capabilities in Pakistan. The program is part of a long-term collaboration between Pakistan and the United States focused on enhancing higher education and building academic partnerships. By supporting doctoral studies abroad, HEC aims to develop a new generation of researchers, educators, and professionals equipped with international exposure and advanced expertise. Applicants who secure admission to universities ranked among the world’s top 50 will receive full financial support, including coverage of tuition fees, a monthly living stipend, and health insurance. Those admitted to universities ranked between 51 and 300 will be eligible for up to 12,000 US dollars per year in tuition support, along with a stipend and medical coverage. HEC has announced two application cycles for 2026. The deadline for the Spring and Summer intake is November 15, 2025, while applications for the Fall session will close on April 30, 2026. Interested candidates can apply through HEC’s online scholarship portal. This initiative is a significant step toward enhancing Pakistan’s academic development by empowering scholars to gain world-class education and return with the skills and knowledge needed to drive innovation and national progress.
