The Capital Development Authority has approved plans for a state-of-the-art international cricket stadium in Islamabad, with a projected cost of Rs12 billion, aiming to enhance the capital’s sports infrastructure and attract global cricket events. The proposed stadium is slated to be constructed near Sector D-12, at the foothills of the Margalla Hills, providing a scenic backdrop for spectators and players alike.
The facility will feature a seating capacity of 25,000, organized across a three-tier arrangement that includes general seating, VIP sections, and shaded areas to ensure comfort for all visitors. In terms of modern amenities, the stadium will include Dubai-style Ring of Fire LED lighting, advanced roofing systems, and top-tier player and spectator facilities. These upgrades aim to meet international standards, making Islamabad capable of hosting major global cricket tournaments.
