Pakistan’s rising tennis talent Mikaeel Ali Baig has made history in junior tennis by winning the USTA Level 1 Winter Nationals Doubles Title in Orlando. Baig partnered with Canadian-Hungarian player Rafael to claim the prestigious title after a grueling two-hour final. The duo came from a set down to defeat Akshay from the USA/India and Ivan from the USA/Russia, finishing the match with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 scoreline.

The tournament featured highly competitive matches throughout the week, with intense quarterfinal and semifinal rounds setting the stage for a dramatic final. Despite losing the first set in the championship, Baig and his partner maintained focus, executed their game strategy, and fought for every point, completing a remarkable comeback.

Mikaeel Ali Baig reflected on his victory, emphasizing the level of skill and determination required to succeed in such a high-caliber event. He said, “After losing the first set, we stayed calm and fought for every point. Winning the Gold Ball is a dream, and I’m proud to bring this title back to Pakistan.”
