WhatsApp is developing a new ‘Requests’ folder designed to give users more control over messages from unknown contacts. The feature will allow users to select between “Everyone,” where all messages appear directly in the chat list, or “My Contacts,” which automatically moves messages from people not in their contact list to the Requests folder.
This system enables users to manage incoming messages without completely blocking unknown senders, creating a safer and more personalized messaging experience. The update is part of WhatsApp’s continued focus on improving privacy, security, and overall user control, ensuring individuals can better manage who can reach them on the platform.
