The Islamabad–Lahore (M-2) Motorway has reopened for all types of traffic after a temporary closure due to a rally organized by a religious political group. The National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) confirmed that traffic is now moving smoothly along the route, which is one of the busiest intercity motorways in Pakistan. The motorway was shut down earlier in the week as a precautionary measure to address potential security and public safety risks associated with the political gathering. Authorities, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, monitored the situation closely and reopened the route once it was deemed safe for travel. Motorists are advised to adhere to traffic regulations and check for updates through official NHMP communication channels before planning long-distance travel, especially during times when major public events are expected on national highways.
