Pakistani Ambassador Addresses and Clarifies Reports on UAE Transit Visa Suspension

0 0

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Shafqat Ali Khan, has denied claims that 48-hour and 96-hour transit visas for Pakistani nationals have been suspended, following the circulation of a screenshot from a visa processing platform.

The disputed image, reportedly from a VFS Global page linked to Emirates, suggested that UAE immigration had temporarily halted these transit visas and advised applicants not to apply. The post caused concern among travelers planning short stopovers in the UAE.

In response, Ambassador Khan confirmed that the reports circulating on social media were “not true.” Official UAE guidelines state that 48-hour and 96-hour transit visas, sponsored by airlines such as Emirates and Etihad, continue to be valid and must be approved prior to arrival. These visas are for travelers who are not eligible for visa-on-arrival or visa-free entry and intend to leave the airport during their layover.

The clarification ensures that transit visa processing for Pakistani nationals remains unaffected.
