Saudi Arabia Revamps Premium Residency Program: New Fees, Benefits, and Eligibility Criteria Announced

0 2

Saudi Arabia has introduced significant changes to its Premium Residency Program, making it more attractive for foreign nationals seeking to live, work, and invest in the Kingdom without the need for a local sponsor (kafeel). This initiative supports the goals of Vision 2030 by encouraging global talent and investment while offering long-term residency solutions.

The updated program offers two main types of residency. The first is Permanent Residency, available through a one-time payment of SAR 800,000 (approximately USD 213,000), which grants lifetime residency benefits. The second is Renewable Residency, requiring an annual payment of SAR 100,000 (around USD 26,700), with the option to renew each year.

Key benefits include the ability to live in Saudi Arabia without a sponsor, own property (except in Makkah, Madinah, and border regions), operate or invest in businesses, and sponsor immediate family members. Premium Residency holders also enjoy full access to banking, education, and healthcare services, along with the freedom to travel throughout the country and transfer funds internationally. However, the program does not grant Saudi citizenship or voting rights.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid passport, have no criminal record, and be medically fit. Legal entry into Saudi Arabia is required, along with proof of financial stability or a reliable source of income.

The application process is conducted online via pr.gov.sa , where applicants create an account, fill out the form, submit documents like bank statements and medical reports, pay the application fee, and await confirmation. Decisions typically take between one to three months.

Overall, the updated Premium Residency Program aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to attract global talent, diversify the economy, and build a more inclusive and internationally connected society.
