The previous AScI Summer Research Program in 2025 received over 7,200 applications globally, with 57 interns from 25 countries enjoying a productive and engaging summer at Aalto University. The 2026 program is expected to attract significant interest due to its reputation and unique research opportunities. The program is open to students from all schools at Aalto University, including Science, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Arts, Business, Design, and Architecture, though positions are primarily in science and engineering disciplines.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria to participate in the AScI International Summer Research Program. Students of any nationality, including bachelor’s, master’s, and recent master’s graduates, can apply. Candidates should demonstrate strong interest, relevant academic background, and enthusiasm for research projects offered by AScI. A full-time commitment from June to August is required, and successful applicants must be physically present at the Otaniemi campus in Espoo, Finland.
The AScI Summer Research Program provides numerous benefits, including a monthly salary starting at 2,000 euros depending on experience, a travel allowance for participants inside and outside Europe, and one week of paid vacation. The program assists students with housing, visas, relocation, and integration into Finnish life.
