The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has announced a cap on tuition fees for MBBS and BDS programs in private medical and dental colleges across Pakistan, following recommendations from a committee constituted by the Prime Minister. Tuition fees, including all ancillary charges, have been fixed at 1.8 million PKR per year for the 2024-25 session. For the 2025-26 session, fees are capped at 1.89 million PKR, reflecting a 5 percent increase, and will apply to all students in all years of study.

From 2026 onwards, any further increase in tuition fees will be strictly tied to the Consumer Price Index, with official notification to be issued accordingly. PMDC has instructed all private medical and dental colleges to fully comply with the new regulations, warning that institutions found violating the rules may face penalties under the PM&DC Act, 2022.
