The Sindh Police, led by IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, is moving forward with the implementation of a faceless e-ticketing system across the province. In a review meeting held in Karachi, officials outlined plans to launch the system in seven districts during the first phase, including Thatta, Khairpur, Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, Tando Muhammad Khan, and Larkana.
This initiative follows the successful rollout of e-ticketing in Hyderabad under the S-4 project, where cameras automatically identify license plates and detect traffic violations. IG Sindh highlighted the need for public awareness ahead of the system’s activation, emphasizing education on traffic rules, e-ticketing procedures, and common violations such as riding without helmets or driving vehicles with missing number plates.
The meeting was attended by senior police officials, including Additional IGs, DIGs, the DG of Safe City, and representatives from PDIT. Officials provided detailed briefings on the progress of the e-ticketing system, including reports on camera enforcement and the Traffic Rule Automated Control System (TRACS) from divisional DIGs.
IG Memon instructed that well-trained and courteous staff be appointed at all facilitation centers, which have already been established across the province. Staff will undergo training to ensure smooth operations once the system goes live. The cameras in the initial seven districts are fully operational and capable of detecting violations, with upgrades planned for additional districts in the coming days.
Awareness campaigns will be conducted in all districts before enforcement begins to educate citizens about the faceless e-ticketing system. The initiative aims to enhance road safety, ensure compliance with traffic laws, and minimize human intervention in the issuance of fines, marking a significant step toward modernizing traffic management in Sindh.
