Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the second phase of the Lahore Development Plan, marking a major push to upgrade urban infrastructure across the provincial capital. Under this phase, a total of 6,284 streets in different parts of Lahore will be improved to enhance road conditions, drainage, and overall neighborhood accessibility.

According to officials, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) will be responsible for renovating 486 streets, focusing primarily on areas linked to water supply and sewerage systems. Meanwhile, the Lahore Municipal Corporation (LMC) will carry out development work on 5,798 streets, with the target set to complete the project by June next year.

During a briefing, authorities presented a comprehensive month-by-month implementation plan to ensure steady progress and balanced development across all localities of the city. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed all concerned departments to strictly adhere to quality standards, avoid unnecessary delays, and ensure transparency throughout the execution process.

The initiative is aimed at improving Lahore’s infrastructure, enhancing its visual appeal, and raising the overall quality of life for residents. The second phase of the development plan reflects the Punjab government’s broader commitment to modernizing Lahore, addressing long-standing civic issues, and delivering visible improvements at the neighborhood level.
