Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a groundbreaking initiative focused on improving healthcare, safety, and digital empowerment for special children across the province. The program marks a major step toward inclusive development and equal access to opportunities in education and technology.

As part of this initiative, Punjab will introduce its first province-wide health screening program for more than 35,600 students enrolled in special education institutions. The program will provide regular medical checkups, timely treatments, and referrals to ensure early detection and management of health issues among special children.

In addition to healthcare support, the government has expanded digital inclusion through the Freelancer Program, which offers specialized courses in design, content creation, and e-commerce. New computer labs have been established and existing ones upgraded to provide accessible training environments that help students build future-ready skills.

To enhance safety and monitoring within special education centers, 4,381 CCTV cameras will be installed in two phases, with completion expected by May next year. This measure aims to create a more secure learning environment and ensure the well-being of students and staff.

The initiative reflects Punjab’s commitment to inclusive growth by integrating health services, digital literacy, and safety measures, empowering special children to thrive both academically and personally.
