The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced plans to construct a signal-free corridor connecting Bhutto Avenue–Shah Faisal Colony Interchange to Jinnah International Airport, aiming to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion along this busy route. According to an official social media update, the project will include a new flyover at Azeem Purah, forming a continuous signal-free path from Bhutto Avenue directly to the airport.

The development is being carried out under the special directives of Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, and the tender for the project has already been issued. In addition to the flyover, the plan involves widening the road from Shah Faisal Colony Bridge to Shama Shopping Center, removal of encroachments along the corridor, and other infrastructure improvements to ensure smoother traffic movement. The KMC stated that construction work on the project will begin soon, marking a significant step toward modernizing Karachi’s road network and easing travel for daily commuters and airport traffic.
