The ANSO Scholarship 2026 in China provides a fully funded opportunity for international students to pursue Master’s and PhD programs at leading Chinese universities. Offered by the Alliance of International Organizations (ANSO), a non-profit international organization promoting global education, science, and technology, the scholarship is aimed at young and talented future scientists. ANSO has 36 founding member institutions, including universities and international organizations worldwide, which sponsor this scholarship to cultivate the next generation of researchers and innovators.
The ANSO Scholarship supports graduate education at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), both renowned for their high-quality education and global recognition. A special category of the program, the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship, launched in 2022, prioritizes women and candidates from Least Developed Countries, selecting up to 50 PhD students annually from developing nations.
For 2026, the scholarship offers approximately 500 fully funded positions, including 200 for Master’s students and 300 for PhD candidates. The Master’s program duration is up to 36 months, while the PhD program lasts up to 48 months. This scholarship covers tuition fees, provides a monthly stipend of 3,000 CNY for Master’s students and 6,000 to 7,000 CNY for PhD students, health insurance, travel allowances, and a one-time visa or residence permit allowance. The scholarship also waives the application fee, making it accessible to all eligible international students.
Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria. Candidates should not hold Chinese nationality, must be proficient in English or Chinese, and must meet the age requirements—born after January 1, 1996, for Master’s programs and January 1, 1990, for PhD programs. Students currently enrolled in Master’s or PhD programs in China or receiving other Chinese scholarships are not eligible. Applicants must meet the international student requirements of USTC or UCAS, refrain from other projects during the scholarship period, and maintain satisfactory performance to retain the scholarship.
Required documents include a valid passport, curriculum vitae, university degree certificates or pre-graduation certificates, notarized academic transcripts, a detailed study or research proposal, language proficiency proof, a medical examination form, and two recommendation letters. Applicants must carefully follow the guidelines on the USTC or UCAS application portals, complete the online application, select the CAS-ANSO Scholarship option, and indicate interest in the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship if applicable. Applications must be submitted online before the deadline, and candidates should monitor their email for updates, requests for additional documents, and interview instructions.
The ANSO Scholarship 2026 in China provides international students a fully funded chance to study at top-ranked Chinese universities, gain world-class research experience, and advance their academic careers. The application deadline for this prestigious scholarship is January 31, 2026.
