The Planning Commission of Pakistan has launched applications for its flagship Young Development Fellows program under the Uraan Pakistan initiative. This one-year fellowship provides young professionals with practical experience in national development planning and public policy. Selected fellows will work alongside senior policymakers, contributing to policy formulation, reform initiatives, and development projects aligned with Pakistan’s economic transformation.
The program aims to cultivate a new generation of impact-driven leaders capable of advancing national development priorities and supporting the objectives of Uraan Pakistan. Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years old, hold a minimum GPA of 3.2, and possess a master’s degree or a 16-year professional qualification from a recognized local or international university. Eligible fields include development and economics, finance and accounting, water resources, artificial intelligence, education and health, tourism and hospitality, creative industries, mining and minerals, infrastructure and construction, information technology, performance management and evaluation, project management, public policy and governance, energy, digital communication, productivity and quality, blue economy, manufacturing and industrial development, exports and trade, urban planning, data analytics, and GIS and remote sensing.
Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 90,000 for the one-year program. Applications must be submitted via courier using the prescribed proforma available on the Planning Commission’s website, accompanied by a CV and attested copies of academic degrees and testimonials. Documents must reach the designated office within 15 days of the advertisement’s publication. Incomplete applications will be rejected, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews. The program does not provide any travel allowance or daily allowance.
