The Peshawar administration has directed all private taxi operators to register with the Excise Department, adopt standardised colour schemes, and display QR code stickers for identification and monitoring. In a crackdown on illegal transport, authorities immediately shut down over 100 unauthorised services, including rickshaws and speed stations, to ease traffic congestion in the city.
Additional measures include the relocation of BRT stations, restrictions on truck movements along key roads before 10pm, and the formation of dedicated enforcement teams to ensure compliance. Division Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud stressed strict action against violators and instructed all relevant departments to implement the directives promptly. The initiative aims to enhance public transport safety, streamline traffic flow, and provide a more efficient commuting experience for Peshawar residents.
