KARACHI: Sindh’s transport department has launched a strict crackdown against vehicles operating with fake or bogus fitness certificates, aiming to ensure road safety and compliance with legal regulations. Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon has ordered the immediate cancellation of route permits for vehicles found using fraudulent certificates and instructed authorities to register legal cases against the violators.

The provincial minister also directed the PTA secretary to submit a detailed report on the enforcement actions taken against such vehicles within three days, ensuring accountability and timely monitoring of the crackdown. Sharjeel Memon highlighted that some transporters have been using fake fitness certificates to bypass mandatory physical inspections of their vehicles, posing serious risks to public safety.

“Fake fitness certificates are a grave violation of laws and a major threat to the safety of passengers and public property,” the minister emphasized. He further added that no violator will be allowed to compromise public lives, calling the use of bogus certificates a heinous crime.

The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a safe, transparent, and law-abiding transport system in Sindh. He warned that strict action will be taken against all individuals involved in such illegal activities, without discrimination, to ensure full compliance with transport regulations and protect citizens on the roads.
